ABSTRACT
By this work we plan to analyze the contribution of the public funds at the professional training and promotion of entrepreneurship in the non-agricultural fields in the rural environment. The study instrument is represented by the implementation of a project funded by the European Social Fund within the Sectoral Operational Program Human Resources Development 2007-2013, which concerns the rural areas from the West of Romania. After the implementation of the project 70 persons were informed and trained regarding the possibilities of starting a business in the non-agricultural fields. The training courses also determined the establishment of some business on local plan in the field of services and of processing of agricultural products. The needs of the persons from the rural environment are related to the information on the opportunity to increase the level of income by starting a business in non-agricultural fields and organization of entrepreneurial training courses for the interested persons. The promotion of businesses from the rural area shall create the premises of the development of these businesses and implicitly shall generate new jobs in the non-agricultural fields.
