ABSTRACT
In the midst of non-published-cum-not-readily available usable accounting data in the form of annual or half yearly reports, this indepth research study of a sick government orgnaisation — agricultural project — in Nigeria is based on culling of accounting information from disintegrated official sources (maintained in a hotch-potch way) followed by a detailed analysis of salient and relevant financial ratios. By using the Wall-Dunning Index of Credit Strength, a detailed financial management analysis is undertaken to diagnose the rootcause of the problems of corporate sickness with a view to formulate judicious policy to overcome the problems and pave the way to progress.
