Remote detectors can determine explosive yield of homemade bombs

The article reports a study on the use of remote acoustic detection systems to identify the explosive yield of low-yield and high-yield homemade explosives. The study by Vanderbilt engineer Douglas Adams was presented at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Dynamic Systems and Control Conference on October 23, 2013 in Stanford, California, which proposes an alternative method for explosive detection to common tools like dogs, honeybees, and mass spectrometry.
