ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study, conducted by Rick Stuart-Smith of the University of Tasmania's Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies and colleagues, which has found that functional biodiversity in oceans is highest in places which have only moderate species counts; however functional biodiversity is low in many classic biodiversity hotspots with high species counts. This study was previously published in the journal "Nature."
