ABSTRACT
The article discusses the court case Stephen Hefner v. Mission Hospital Inc. wherein the hospital is alleged of veiling spreadsheets that list gross billing charges for products and services its provided in North Carolina. It mentions that the charges known as Chargemasters are listed in terms of item-by-item in a form of a reference point for the medical institution to negotiate with carriers of insurance. It also notes that Judge Calvin E. Murphy rejected its motion to dismiss the case.
