ABSTRACT
Examines the 19th-century Greenwich Village townhouses converted into study centers for New York University. Both projects were designed by Helpern Architects. The Onassis Center for Hellenic Studies retains its original residential quality, while the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo was gutted and now contains an auditorium, atrium and other spaces. Both look original on the outside.
