ABSTRACT
States that a growing number of doctors blame the spiral-shaped germ Helicobacter pylori for 80 percent of stomach ulcers and virtually all duodenal ulcers, which attack where the stomach empties into the small intestine. The latest word, moreover, suggests the ulcer bug is catching. Simple new test to detect the organism; Pairing proven ulcer drugs with unproven antibiotic regimens; Conservative thinking about ulcers.
