ABSTRACT
Suggests that images from Magellan reveal that the surface of the planet Venus is probably 400 million years old, contrasting with the oldest portions of Earth at 3.5 billion years, and moon rocks dated at 4.2 billion years. Possibility that Venus has been resurfaced a piece at a time rather than in a single catastrophe; Craters give a graphic glimpse into the past; Black halos or smudges; Meteor showers.
