ABSTRACT
The objective of this article was to make some theoretical observations about transformational leadership, referring to the approaches of Bass and Avolio (2006), Velasquez (2006), Lerna (2007), Leithwood, Mascall and Strauss (2009), among others. The methodology involved a review of literature through hermeneutics. Conclusions are that transformational leadership implies identifying people who are creative, motivated to achieve, committed and identified with the organization, as well as those who inspire in their followers participation, collective thinking and striving to achieve meaningful goals in favor of the mission and vision of the company, and converting them into partners.
