ABSTRACT
The article presents a study which details the safety and efficacy results of Indacaterol to improve the health status, exacerbations, and lung function of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in China. It states that COPD is becoming a leading cause of morbidity in the country, with genetic susceptibility, tobacco smoking, and biomass fuel use as the major risk factors. The approval of Indacaterol as the first once-daily long-acting beta-adrenoceptor (LABA) is cited.
