The article discusses a study which investigated the coexistence of Vibrio cholerae O1 El Tor and O139 Bengal strains in Bangladesh. Epidemiologic ecologic surveillance was conducted by the International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B) from June 2010 to December 2012 in Dhaka, Chhatak and Mathbaria. It is noted that the global pattern of cholera is rapidly changing.
