The article discusses the emergence of dietary supplement and weight loss products advertisements in the United States. According to the author, most of these advertisements appear to be false or unsubstantiated. The author calls on the media to help the Federal Trade Commission battles deceptive advertising by engaging in pre-publication screening of potentially problematic advertisements.
