ABSTRACT
The article presents a study that determined the influence of two different irrigation regimes on carbon dioxide assimilation, transpiration and maximum photochemical yield in Populus deltoides L. or cottonwood clones G--48 and Kranti. It showed how the higher and lower levels of physiological responses happened when the plants were irrigated up to their full and half field capacities, respectively. The growth parameters of the clones as affected by the water regimes are presented in a chart.
