The article focuses on the emergence of laser beam analysis instruments. In response to limited resolution of cameras, Canadian firm Gentec-EO launched its Quad pyroelectric detectors for measuring beam displacements and position. Laser firm Coherent also offers beam analysis equipment such as beam propagation analyzers. Cary warns that equipment have different ways of dealing with power.
