ABSTRACT
AS beings inhabiting another planet, our MSPs are taking a keen interest in the new Scottish Doctor Who, announced last week. Oscarwinning Peter Capaldi, left, who shone as the combative spin doctor Malcolm Tucker in the TV political satire The Thick Of It, is now riding high as a Time Lord. Despite the SNP seeking abolition of the Lords, backbencher Fiona McLeod could not help gushing in a parliamentary motion that Capaldi brings 'gravitas and humour' to the role.
