ABSTRACT
The article presents an overview of the U.S. National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), which is one of the U.S. National Institutes of Health's 27 institutes and centers, conducts research on pain and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and is located in Bethesda, Maryland. Excerpts from an interview with NCCAM employees Catherine Bushnell and Josephine Briggs which was conducted during a 2013 National Institute of health radio program are offered.
