ABSTRACT
The article discusses the use of chaste tree (CT) as herbal remedies for the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome, which include mood swings, bloating, and breast tenderness. CT contains diterpenoids, a compound that has a normalizing effect on the pituitary gland or the master hormone gland in the body. CT brings hormonal harmony by increasing the production of luteinizing hormone which results to an increase in progesterone and by inhibiting the secretion of prolactin.
