ABSTRACT
The author defends his claim that it is improbable that one record label's products should be consistently superior to others in sonic quality. He addresses an argument presented by a reader which compared the products of record companies to those manufactured by car companies. He the responds by considering the different natures of the two businesses, and suggests that even the best record labels cannot be expected to produce consistent results.
