ABSTRACT
The article offers tips on how horse owners can establish contact with their horse through controlled impulsion. The author stresses the benefits of making horse contact include the ability to regulate his impulsion, help him re-balance, and understand lateral work and collection. He mentions that the horse will avoid contact if riders will hold the reins tightly. Information on the rein-back and lateral flexion exercises and how to use one rein for softness and control is provided.
