ABSTRACT
Grinding is one of the most important metal cutting processes used in the processing materials that are hard to process using other methods, such as hard alloys of nickel, titanium, hardened steels, carbides. Surface finish is one of the most important output grinding process parameters. The objective of this work is to determine the optimal grinding regime of cutting that will obtain the minimum surface roughness in grinding DK460UF carbide. This material is used to manufacture drilling tools. These tools are used in high speed manufacturing for increasing the productivity of the work. It was necessary to increase their durability. Numerous researches showed that high quality (low roughness) of the evacuation channels surface cause an increasing of the tools' durability. In this work, using DESIGN-EXPERT software it was developed an optimal model of cutting parameters achieving low roughness of carbide surfaces..
