ABSTRACT
The article analyzes the new phase that cancer patients enter when treatments are complete, citing that regardless of the prognosis, patients do not seem to go back where they were before. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) has established guidelines for assessing distress in oncology patients using the Distress Thermometer, with the aim to normalize the distress occurrence. The author cites that guiding the patients through in their emotional recovery can help them cope easier.
