ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) which is cited to be an additional alternative treatment for hepatocellular carinoma (HCC) patients who are not candidates for curative-intent interventions. HCC is mentioned to be the leading cause of cancer death. It explains that while it is potentially curable with surgery, liver transplantation or radiofrequency ablation, less than 30 percent of patients can actually be candidates for potentially curable treatment strategies. INSET: When is surgery an option?.
