ABSTRACT
The article reports that the reformulation of the OxyContin medication has provided relief to employers that pay for workers' compensation and are liable for the illegal diversion of the prescription pain reliever. The author says that unfortunately for society overall, drug addicts are turning to heroin and other narcotics as their primary drug. Results of a survey of drug addicts by the "New England Journal of Medicine" are highlighted.
