Diabetes Mellitus in the Patient with Psychological Problem: An Issue of Concern

The article discusses the issue on diabetes mellitus in the patient with psychological problem. It cites the case of a 45-year-old man who had fluctuation in blood glucose level between high and low levels. He was referred to a psychiatrist and was diagnosed as a psychic patient with anxiety disorder. It suggests that disease management programs for patients with diabetes mellitus types I and II should include psychosomatic-psychotherapeutic diagnostics.
