ABSTRACT
Let X be a C-distinguished topological space, and let ω be a weight function on X. Denote by Cb(X,ω) the space of all real-valued functions f with f/ω∊ Cb(X), and by e Cb(X,ω) the space of all real-valued continuous functions f such that f/ω is bounded. We introduce certain locally convex topologies on Cb(X,ω) and e Cb(X,ω), and as our main results we determine their duals.

We present a criterion for the Ï„-smoothness of weakly additive order-preserving functionals and establish that the functor of Ï„-smooth weakly additive functionals preserves the perfectness of mappings. We prove that if a continuous mapping between Tikhonov spaces is such that the mapping...

In this note we present a theorem on controlled extensions of Carathéodory functions. We obtain our result by means of the Marczewski function, which gives results on Carathéodory functions from the corresponding continuous ones.

A function f : ℝ → ℝ is called vertically rigid, if graph(c f) is isometric to graph(f) for all c ≠ 0. We confirm Jankovid's conjecture by showing that a continuous function is vertically rigid if and only if it is of the form a + bx or a + bekx (a,b,k ∈ ℝ)....
