The article reports on the status of the frozen, deli and dairy categories of the U.S. convenience store sector in 2013. Data showed that 55 percent of convenience store owners expect growth in 2013, mainly because of the rebounding U.S. economy and rising consumer discretionary spending. In 2012, average sales per store per week in the frozen category went up by 10.93 percent compared with the previous year. The deli segment recorded a sales increase of 0.84 percent over the same period.
