The article discusses the report "A Valuable Turn for Finance," compiled by CFO Research and credit card firm American Express Co., regarding challenges faced by U.S. midsize businesses such as trucking companies relating to finding a balance between service quality and price. Midsize companies' need to deal with competitive pressures from larger firms whose size provides pricing advantages is addressed. Cash from ongoing operations is viewed as the likely primary source of growth capital.
