ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plans of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to prepare two environmental impact statements (EIS) on 2,4-D- and dicamba-resistant crops, including Dow AgroSciences' 2,4-D-tolerant corn and soybeans and Monsanto's dicamba-tolerant soybeans and cotton. It describes the response of Dow AgroSciences and Monsanto to the APHIS announcement as well as the potential federal actions based on the resulting EIS.
