ABSTRACT
The article reports on the support by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York (IIABNY) of the passage by the New York State Senate of a bill that would curb abuse of certificates of insurance. It has called on the State Assembly to act on the bill quickly. Certificates of insurance are forms that businesses commonly give other businesses or government entities which summarize the terms of the insurance policies the businesses have purchased.
