ABSTRACT
This paper brings an evaluation of the editorial quality of Agência Brasil, a news agency of Brazil Communications Company (Empresa Brasileira de Comunicação, or EBC), held on three requirements: content diversity, plurality of voices and the coverage of public policies existence. Besides generating an initial diagnosis of the agency news, the research also aims to test the methodology used, in order to detect possible weaknesses or limitations that could be improved for its incorporation into policies of news organizations quality evaluation. The paper presents the deficiencies found in the coverage of the agency, analyzes the viability of the use of the methodology to evaluate the journalistic organizations editorial quality, and suggests mechanisms of editorial management to achieve better results.
