The article focuses on Cubana, Cuba's government-owned national airline. A dilemma for the airline is examined in which it needs to purchase more transport planes to respond to an increase in tourism to Cuba, but cannot purchase planes containing more than 10 percent of parts produced in the U.S. due to the U.S. trade embargo on Cuba. Purchases of transports from Russian aerospace industries firms and rental of transports produced by Western companies by Cubana are discussed.
