ABSTRACT
The article features several U.S. certified welding inspectors (CWIs) and their experiences in working overseas. Ken Erickson of National Inspection & Consultants, Inc. said that when English is not spoken in the assigned location, they have to rely on other means such as pictures, drawing and slower explanation. Steve Snyder of Transocean Deepwater Drilling emphasized the importance of patience and the willingness to adapt to different situations.
