ABSTRACT
Potentially broader implications of the structural failure of an Aloha Airlines Boeing 737 over the Hawaiian Islands on April 28 are being closely scrutinized by several government agencies. The airline has retired all four of its high-cycle Boeing 737 twin jets, and an industry-wide reevaluation of all issues related to aging commercial transports has been called for by one top official.
