ABSTRACT
A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out during the month of May 2012, in three cement manufacturing companies with head offices in Rawalpindi and Islamabad (Pakistan). A non-probability convenience sample of 171 employees was analyzed. The aim of the study is to check the moderating effect of employee engagement (EE) on the determinants of job satisfaction (JS), and job satisfaction itself. Four determinants of to include, reward, supervisory support, and quality of work life were considered. Survey was conducted through an adapted questionnaire with Likert Scale of 1-5. Only 11.7% respondents are female due to social reasons of avoiding hard core manufacturing industry like cement, steel and fertilizer. Correlation and regression tests were applied for analysis. The study proved that EE has a strong moderating effect on the determinants of JS in cement industry of Pakistan and should be adopted to enhance the overall JS of the employees.
