ABSTRACT
The article emphasizes that the U.S. military should advocate for marriage equality in order to follow sexual orientation as a nonissue and to support the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010 (DADT Repeal Act), which permitted lesbian, gay or bisexual (LGB) service members to serve openly. It discusses how supports for military families get restricted under the U.S. Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). It assesses the status of same-sex marriage at both federal and state levels.
