ABSTRACT
STUART BROAD hailed his best spell in Test cricket as England completed an astonishing victory over New Zealand at Lord's yesterday. Set an achievable 239 to complete a famous win, the Kiwis were bundled out for 68 — the lowest total in NW8 since 2000 — as Broad returned careerbest figures of seven for 44 either side of lunch on the fourth day of the first Investec Test. The result means England need only to avoid defeat in the second Test, starting at Headingley on Friday, to claim the short series. Broad (left) said: 'I think that was my best for England.
