ABSTRACT
LONDON'S smartest bridge club, the Portland, is on the move. The ultra-discreet Portland, where members can easily drop thousands of pounds a night, is leaving its Mayfair base at the back of the Savile Club after being asked to pay a rent increase by the Savile. The Portland, whose members used to include David Cameron's late father, Ian, and the Duke of Marlborough, is moving to undisclosed premises. 'They are a secretive lot who keep their cards close to their chest,' says a Savile member. 'We'll be sorry to see them go but it means we may have more room for bedrooms.'
