ABSTRACT
The article looks at archaeological evidence of pottery and related artifacts on the Isthmus of Ierapytna in Crete, Greece. Particular focus is given to black gloss (b.g.) pottery. According to the author, a lack of other evidence makes it necessary to date pottery from this area using only stylistic comparisons with other Cretan production centers. Details on an intact classical lekythos, or oil flask, found at the site are presented.
