ABSTRACT
The author discusses the increasing experimentation with digital teleprinting modes done on broadcast transmitters with higher signals. He says shortwave broadcast stations tend to pick a new, open-source ham program called Fldigi. He says that Voice of America Radiogram uses many of Fldigi's text and image modes and the formatting features in an add-on called Flmsg. Doctor Kim Andrew Elliott cites shortwave transmitters are useful tools for text dissemination when the Internet is unavailable.
