ABSTRACT
SCOTLAND failed to build on a solid bowling display as they went down to a comprehensive 96-run defeat to Pakistan in their first one-day international yesterday. Spinner Majid Haq spoiled his big day after claiming a Scottish ODI wicket record by falling to a first-ball duck as the tourists cantered to victory in Edinburgh. Clydesdale bowler Haq went into the match at the Grange level with John Blain on 41 ODI wickets but took three scalps in Pakistan's innings to move himself clear on 44.
