The wet, cold winters we've had over the past few years have played havoc with my Mediterranean herbs. These are lovely aromatic plants such as rosemary, oregano, thyme and sage that thrive on the parched hillsides of Provence, Tuscany and Andalusia, and they've struggled in my heavy, wet, cold clay soil.
