FAMILY MAN OF THE WEEK: Alex Ferguson didn't even tell his own brother of his plans to leave Manchester United until the day before the public announcement, he says, because he wanted to tell the players first. This might suggest that the team came before family if he hadn't said that it was his devotion to his wife Cathy - who recently lost 'her best friend' when her sister died - that made the decision for him. So, his priorities were right after all.
