ABSTRACT
The article reports on the study conducted by Christopher Maher of the the Wesley Private Hospital and Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital and colleagues that examines prolapse of the anterior compartment. The study found that anterior colporrhaphy is associated with a 64% higher objective failure rate than any biological graft. It also reveals that anterior colporrhaphy is associated with a nearly twofold lower total reoperation rate for pelvic organ prolapse (POP).
