ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study by Marta Borowiecka and colleagues on the oxidative stress (OS) markers in follicular fluid (FF) of women under in vitro fertilization/embryo transfer (IVF/ET). It says that the researchers used various methods such as the protein peroxidation marker analysis, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and body mass index (BMI) measurement. Results reveal that FF protein and lipid peroxidation level may negatively affect IVF outcome.

In the nonpregnant population, there is extensive evidence of a systemic low-grade inflammatory status in relation to excess adipose tissue. Less is known about the relation during pregnancy. Objective: Our main objective was therefore to explore the effect of pregnancy on adiposity-related...

Background: Atherosclerosis is an age-related disease. Adiponectin and C1q form a protein complex in human blood, and that serum C1q and C1q-binding adiponectin (C1q-APN) concentrations can be measured. We investigated circulating C1q and C1q-APN levels in Japanese men including elderly men....

Background The relationship of saliva with plasma protein levels makes saliva an attractive diagnostic tool. Plasma levels of adiponectin and leptin in healthy individuals or diabetes mellitus patients have been previously reported. Nevertheless, salivary levels of these adipocytokines in...
