ABSTRACT
The article reports on the study which suggests that forestry practices can have a positive effect on biodiversity in commercial forests in Great Britain. However, it highlights gaps such as a lack of data on the magnitude of additional benefits from forest certification schemes. Richard Hands of the Alliance of Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE) UK comments that using renewable materials is preferable to using nonrenewable ones where possible.
