ABSTRACT
The article reports on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Norway and Guyana as part of the global model of how Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) might work across all countries. It raises concerns over the move of Norway to transfer $45 million to the World Bank trust fund for Guyana. It questions whether the huge incentives from Norway would lead to more sustainable and less wasteful forestry.
