ABSTRACT
The article discusses whether heat pumps should be installed on the gas network in Great Britain. The government is targeting the installation of 6.8 million heat pumps by 2030. According to the Building & Engineering Services Association (B&ES), untrained installers, poor understanding of the technology and mis-selling could affect the market. B&ES head of sustainability David Friske believes that conventional gas-fired heating deliver better energy savings than heat pumps.
