Disk lasers for automotive applications

The article discusses the use and features of disk lasers in the automotive sector. It explains that conventional shearing tools are too quick and causes micro-cracks but laser processing is a reasonable method for cutting hot-formed parts in high volume production. It also states that rising costs of helium and its unpredictable availability has forced manufacturers to find an alternate high energy beam solution like disk laser.
