ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the treatment of latent tuberculosis (TB) infection (LTBI) in children. It states that the children with LTBI have risk of developing active TB without treatment. It reports that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended isoniazid monotherapy combined with drugs rifampicin or rifapentine. It also mentions the adverse effects of rifampicin monotherapy on the completion of LTBI treatment.
