The author provides guiding principles to parents regarding dealing with children's hearing loss. She states that the parents should advocate child's needs, maintain hearing equipment, and connect with other parents. The author suggests information search through advocate and supporting network Alexander Graham (AG) Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to gain knowledge. She also states that hearing loss of the child should be taken one day at a time for growth and development.
